Alzheimer's Society - Dementia Support for Leicester City, County and Hospitals

Description

A service for people concerned about their memory, people living with dementia and their carers post diagnosis and throughout their dementia journey. The service provides support, information, advice and guidance and supports self-management and peer support as appropriate.

The service includes the following elements:

  • Information, advice and guidance
  • One to one emotional and practical support
  • Group Support at a number of locations across the City, home visits are also available – contact the service for further information
  • Learning Programmes for carers and people living with dementia
  • Advocacy Support – including Care Act Advocacy
  • Support for people living with dementia and their carers whilst in hospital

The Alzheimer’s Society also provides a Paid Person’s Representative Service to support a person who is or has become deprived of their liberty in a hospital or care home and has no family or friends who will and are able to act as an appropriate representative, to ensure that their rights are protected.
